Claims from the Other?

I refer to the last three days article in Utusan Malaysia, where journalist, Abdul Aziz Harun, Massita Ahmad, Zairulliati Mali & Prem Kumar Panjamorthy interviewed the former prime minister, Tun Mahathir Mohammed on several topics especially on the ethnic claims, general election and motoring issues.

However, one segment that caught my attention most was Tun Mahathir’s words on the ethnic clash that should be understood by many.

I wouldn’t notice the interview published in Utusan on 17^th February if not being informed by my secretary, Sanisah, a tip of the hat to you. 

Here’s the summary which is based from my understanding.  I’ve gone to great lengths to maintain their original meanings since there are differences between Malay language and English.

The Malays are in dilemma in facing various claims from the non-Malays.  Sometimes they still criticize the position of the Malays.  If the Malays want to react in defending Malay’s position, then they would be accused of being racist.  In return, they show their anger as a result to avoid the accusation.  However, the method deems to be ineffective. This is a problem for the Malays and any other races in Malaysia because it seems that the division between the races at present is much more prominent than in the past.

Although the present Prime Minister Najib aggressively promotes 1Malaysia but it is not more than just a slogan.  It is argued that it is imperative that the idea should have received warm welcome by all communities.  However, in reality, only the Malay, by majority celebrates the idea.

The government thus far has dealt with so many claims from the non-Malays.  If the claims are always fulfilled, then there will be even more demand when they thought that they are the winning factor in the upcoming election.

Since the Independence Day in 1957, the cooperation between the Malay-Chinese-Indian through the coalition political parties of UMNO-MCA-MIC has brought a lot of progress for the country. This collaboration has resulted a stable nation.  This is due to the three parties that agreed to share political power in order to ensure there is no internal conflict within the country.  Hence, in that way then the country can be developed.  On the contrary, if one ethnic group wishes to have all their demands being fulfilled by government, then it might trigger dissatisfaction among other races which might turn the country topsy-turvy.

If this occurs, no progress would be possible because the economy cannot thrive in chaos. Therefore, there will be no one that could benefit from such critical incidence. Tun Mahathir emphasized that such situation should be understood by everyone, especially for the Chinese because they cannot execute their business in a volatile country.

meteorit menghentam russia

jumaat lepas satu meteorit atau tahi bintang jatuh ke bumi russia. ada orang kisah dan juga orang yang tak kisah tentang berita tu.

tapi saya kisah.

kenapa ye kebanyakan tahi bintang ni asyik jatuh kat sebelah kawasan amerika, russia dan mana2 tempat. jarang betul yang jatuh dekat kawasan asia tenggara. maka saya pun lihat kepada world map yang terbentang luas di hadapan dinding sekarang.

saya nampak ada tiga zon yang luas iaitu, zon benua afrika, zon asia tengah [russia yang paling luas, diikuti, china, kazakhstan dan mongolia yang menjadi central zone dan zon amerika [usa, amerika latin] & kanada. terdapat juga kawasan greenland yang bersebelahan kanada itu, tapi saya berpandangan tahi bintang ni tak 'tertarik' nak ke situ.

makna kata 3 zon ini tersangat lah luas dan menadah sebarang kehadiran hentaman mana2 ancaman angkasa lepas.

berbalik kepada kawasan kita di asia tenggara, terutamanya di semenanjung malaysia, saya berpandangan ada sedikit kepayahan pada tahi bintang ini untuk jatuh di kawasan ini memandangkan sifat bentuk semenanjung itu ibarat kawasan yang terselindung yang diapit oleh sumatera di kiri, borneo di kanan, tanah jawa di selatan dan kombinasi dataran thailand, kemboja, vietnam dan myanmar di utara.

so, terdapat juga betapa luasnya lautan pasifik yang diapit oleh keseluruhan asia tengah, benua australia dan amerika. tidak kurang juga lautan hindi yang begitu luas. kedua2 lautan ini terbentang sangat luas dan memberi peluang besar kepada meteorit untuk menghentam laut. begitu juga lautan artik di utara dan antartik di selatan.

saya juga terfikir seandainya kekuatan ledakan tahi bintang tempoh hari yang menyerupai 30 kekuatan bom atom yang dijatuhkan di hiroshima itu meledak di semenanjung malaysia, maka tempias malapetaka itu tentunya merebak ke seluruh indonesia dan bahagian thailand, kemboja, vietnam, myanmar. ianya satu tragedi. sudah tentu asia tenggara menjadi padang jarak, padang tekukur. saya juga terfikir seandainya tahi bintang yang punya kekuatan sebegitu meledak di lautan pasifik ataupun lautan hindi, sudah tentu akan berlaku tsunami yang cukup dahsyat yang akan menenggelamkan daratan.

saya juga terfikir pada hari kiamat nanti cukup hanya 2 atau 3 tahi bintang bersaiz gergasi menghentam lautan dan daratan, maka pastinya sekelip mata daratan akan lenyap dan semua manusia mati. walaupun tidak dinyatakan dengan jelas bagaimana mekanisme kiamat itu tetapi telah diterangkan dengan teliti di dalam quran akan bagaimana perihal kiamat itu.

pada masa ini, kesemua saintis sedang sibuk mencari serpihan tahi bintang itu. saya juga teruja dengan berita penemuan serpihan ini kerana teringatkan cerita bersiri smallville (cerita superman tu). ada juga ramai individu di luar sana menawarkan hadiah berpuluh ribu ringgit untuk serpihan tersebut.

apabila saya melihat dunia ini [dengan melihat peta dunia], saya dapat rasakan bahawa wujudnya betapa banyak kehidupan manusia yang tidak terkira di muka bumi dengan urusan masing2 dalam kehidupan.

tidakkah berita jatuhnya tahi bintang itu merupakan satu petanda untuk manusia berfikir? adakah ramai orang yang kisahkan tentang di sebalik fenomena itu?

saya seolah2 melihat kehidupan bumi secara zoom out dari ruang angkasa. dirasakan bumi ini begitu kerdil yang berputar mengelilingi matahari. ada juga planet2 yang lebih besar berada di sebelahnya. jika saya zoom in, betapa kompleksnya kehidupan di bumi ini. bumi ini begitu fragile kerana ianya tidak dikelilingi sebarang jenis perisai.

cuma perisai yang ada sekarang ialah laungan azan selama 24 jam [ini adalah teori yang lemah, tapi benarkah?]. andai sudah berhenti azan di muka bumi ini, maka kiamat pasti berlaku. makna kata tiadanya laungan azan, bermakna sudah tiada lagi umat islam di bumi.
hanya sudah tiada umat islam, maka baru lah kiamat itu terjadi. pernyataan ini tidak disebutkan di dalam quran. saya tidak pasti dalil hadis daripada mana sumber setelah mendengar kuliah maghrib di masjid terapung melaka sekitar 2 tahun yang lepas.

Rebuilding the Malay

15th February 2013.

I've got a rather clear picture with regard to the nature and behaviour of the Chinese.  The prevailing unrest in mainland China during the Japanese-China war and the British liberal policy that encouraged the entry of Chinese immigrants to countries with sources of tin mines had caused many to assume that the decision to emigrate was the best reserves.  The route became easier when the British recruited many of the Chinese to serve in the tin mines in Malaya at that time.  Thousands of people from mainland China had come to Malaya to work, searching for sustenance and a better life by leaving the warfare homeland which was in a state of riot and chaos.  Even though they felt sad to leave some family members, however, in the far corners of their hearts, embedded a principle that they will never forget their birth land, culture and genealogy. 

The Chinese contended that they were not the weak people in East Asia (with reference to some infinite defeat with Japanese troops), instead they will continue to rise at every defeat with high spirit.  Their efforts to travel thousands of miles away was a sacrifice when they left their beloved homeland.

 

These Chinese, being sinocentrism (China is the cultural centre of the world) and filial piety (obedience to parents) has a high fighting spirit with the exquisite mindset who is ready to face all the challenges that lie ahead.  In comparison, the Malays with their deep rooted Islamic principles are naturally hospitable to gracefully welcome foreigners, easy to feel compassion and love to help and because of these outstanding traits, these Chinese immigrants were accepted wholeheartedly. However, most Chinese immigrants came with mining skills, which gradually they were allowed to operate a mining tin by leasing from the Malay chiefs. It was the Chinese during that time who introduced the gravel pump and trough system, while the Malays still traditionally panned off the sand and dirt hoping to get some tins.

The Chinese presence undeniably enlivened the mining activities.  Until the end of the 19^th century, the Chinese had dominated the mining activities. This situation has laid a great impact on the economy and it was the beginning when the Malayan economy was monopolized by the Chinese and the disparity in economic pie has instigated anxiety among the Malays.  Hardship and deprivation during the early days of the Chinese in Malaya has taught them to become industrious and conscientious in carrying out duties.  However, it is argued, do we blame the Chinese, just because they are hardworking and skilful?  Prime Minister Najib also said that the economic pie will still be given equally between Malays and non-Malays but to those who qualify.  It would be in vain to grant aid solely to Malays who are not serious and lack of determination as later they would eventually fail.  Najib’s concern is very true when there are many indecent conducts among Malays who sell licenses, projects and land reserves to non-Malays. Whose faults here if not the Malay?

Although I have not found any empirical studies or reviews of any reports (except the newspaper) in respect of the Malays who want to get rich quick-and-easy, bigoted, covetous, swayable and disparaging others, however, I believe the non-Malays see these degrading manners as an opportunity.  I strongly say that the Malays are easy to follow anything, blindly believe, diluted with pleas and outstanding capability to emulate dialects of any ethnics in Malaysia of which these advantages are arguably available in any races in the world.

In the mainstream of Malay empowerment agenda, most themes are looking to external threats against the position of the Malays such as the economic imbalance, the Bumiputera (son of the soil) privileges, Malay supremacy and the sovereignty of the Malay land while rarely questioning about the negative attitude that is so apparent in the Malays, for instance, they are very easy to believe in something and susceptible.  By embracing the principles of Islam, it is ironic that many Malays still cheat each other, as in the case of ‘get rich quick’ schemes and any misleading product promotion that sounds confuse (but they are easy to believe).  In politics, we see that the Malays fight and accuse each other -- the members in the parties also get carried away.  However, what happens in reality is that Malay always considers Chinese as a threat following to the May 13 riot.  I believe that many Malays were swayed by the myth that the Chinese who caused the riots whereas according to Tunku Abdul Rahman's report, it was the Communist Chinese who triggered the riot, not the then Chinese who settled in Malaysia. The Communist prefers Malay and Chinese clawing each other so that easy for them to pursue their agenda.

Up to present, the concept of open house and respect the traditions of other ethnics is just pretending because some myths that Malays still suspicious towards Chinese that they shouldn't be given the opportunity to lead the country because later will abolish Malay rights and privileges.  On the other hand, Chinese think that the Malays would want to eliminate Chineseness in Malaysia through the education system.  In the education system, integration based school could not be established because all Chinese associations and Chinese political parties either pro-government or opposition unanimously pronounce such move will destroy Chinese identity. Despite the good relations and tolerance among Malay-Chinese, but still behind it, there is still prejudice.

I believe that nowadays, the Chinese could be considered as the king in the field of business (although the recent ranking is Ananda Krishnan, Malaysia's top billionaires).  This situation could not be changed in the blink of an eye.  The Malays would still be left behind even how fast they are chasing.  I realize that although Malay is known as the people with dignity and united in defending the sanctity of religion, race and sovereignty of the Kings, but that has not been witnessed since the days of the Malayan Union.  Malays now have too many strange elements that might violate the Malay socio-culture such as deceit, smugness, swayed, impressionable, fantasizing and ostentation. 

When Anwar Omar Din says Malaysia's culture is a jumbled culture because the existence of too many multi-ethnic cultures that none can be highlighted as Malaysia’s sole cultural identity because every ethnic is contesting each culture’s superiority.  At this juncture, I also would like to express, in spite of the tapestry of Malay cultural life, there are also Malay indecorous behaviours that could be part of the culture.  These indecent manners are so conspicuous that it is incongruous from the Islamic belief which is embraced by the majority Malays.  In academia, it can be found some articles pertaining to Chinese writing with regard to the Malay world, and even English scholars have long written about it. However, it is hardly found any Malays who slammed Chinese misunderstanding on the Malay world.  I might wonder, do the Chinese views and writings express the truth? Yet, isn’t it ironic that the Malays gradually have lost their power in their own land because on the basis of harmony, they had to listen to all criticisms and suggestions of other races? 

In another situation, the hypocrisy of the Chinese against Malays in maintaining good and harmonious relationship is unfold when the Chinese persistently demand to strengthen the Chinese education to prolong their Chineseness.  I do not know to what extend that the Malay firmness always tolerate with the Chinese chauvinist with their ethnocentric nature.  Again, the soft-hearted Malay surrenders to the demand and change their mind (this is the nature of the Malays positive traits which these ultra kiasu Chinese observe as an opportunity).  But, is it the Chinese fault to defend their identity? National Cultural Policy which crowned the Malay identity as national identity in 1971, up to this day, is not strong enough to prevail any resistance and whenever there is Chinese refusal to go along with the Malay dominated government, the Malays surely will conform as reflected in their traditional positive traits, i.e. magnanimous.  Whereas, the Chinese will not even tolerate about any recommendations which they sense that there is an attempt to Malayized the Chinese.

In the context of tourism in Malaysia, although multiculturalism is considered a strong factor in the promotion of tourism, there is no mutual agreement between the multi-ethnic societies to decide whose culture should be put forefront as the country's cultural icons. Apparently, it turns out that each of this multi-ethnic community elevates and performs their own culture in their own ethnicised landscape. 

Ironically, they are said to share one common place and feel the vibrancy and excitement of celebrating culture of the Others, but that is just as much hypocrisy when they begin to think that their culture is the superior one?  Even in a certain ethnic dominated landscape in Malaysia, we could clearly observe the way of life of that ethnic so much so that there is no chance for other cultural elements from other ethnic could infiltrate such as the Chinatown and Little India while the Malays, who is the lord of the land do not require such landscape. But, is it necessary for the Malay to set up a place like that in Malaysia?

I certainly blame Malays than the Chinese because it is the Malay who has exposed many of their weaknesses that the Chinese observes it as an opportunity.  The national outbreak on the use word of Allah in the bible is to test the degree of Malay’s credibility how far they are united in their views. But, some Malays are still now having differences of opinion on the subject.  Political standing is not an issue here but the factious spirit is the marked issue in creating conflict, which derived from the clannish attitude in Malay.  Such factionalism could also gives rise to the endless sense of prejudice towards the Other.   For the Chinese, they could voice any issue that come across their mind, while waiting for reaction and seeing those Malays start to accuse each other, disagree and argue.  Whereas, the Chinese never shaky in their views even if they are of different political belief. 

Malay could be considered a unique ethnic group.  In one case, they are supremely united, but in everyday life, they behave strangely that others are laughing at them over disputable matters without the Malay realizes that such issues are just teasing them, not much than a ludicrous comedy.  Over the matter that there is no consistency of opinion among Malays, do they really believe they have been ridiculed? Or even if they know, why is this strange supercilious manner dominates them?  Thus, the nature of this kind of trait needs to be eliminated beforehand so that there would be chances (despite their passionate enthusiasm) to reinforce the Malay itself.

derita cinta - jamal abdillah

best pula dengar lagu ni. melodi dia best [tanpa beri perhatian pada lirik]. sambil menulis blog ini, saya berulang2 kali dengar lagu itu.

hari ini, harian metro highlight salah satu beritanya tentang seorang nenek, 74 tahun terbabas masuk longkang di hiway. dia jadi terpinga-pinga sambil hairan macam mana kereta kancil dia boleh masuk longkang. 

saya terus saja teringat kejadian yang serupa terjadi pada diri sendiri pada 2007. cuma bezanya saya terbabas di selekoh tajam, masuk parit yang sangat besar dan luas yang menenggelamkan kereta dalam keadaan hujan. ianya berlaku dalam sekelip mata.

yang boleh saya ingat kereta berpusing dua kali sebelum terheret menjunam ke dalam parit besar itu.  mujur pada masa tu tiada sesiapa.  semasa saya terjatuh terperosok dalam parit tu, jantung saya berdegup amat kencang dan saya dalam kebingungan.  saya cuma ingat cinta hati saya -- my car, instead my safety.  kerana 2 minggu sebelum itu saya telah belanja rm600 untuk repair fender, cermin hadapan dan lampu signal yang pecah kerana terlanggar sekawan lembu. jauh di dalam hati saya, saya berasa derita.

saya tersekat di dalam kereta, langsung tidak boleh keluar kerana pintu stuck. saya cuma terajang pintu sekuat hati selama berdozen kali [dalam fikiran cuma nak pecahkan cermin kereta sahaja -- tapi tak sampai hati]. akhirnya terbuka juga. saya cuma mau bergegas keluar [kerana khuatir minyak akan bocor yang akan menyebabkan letupan].  selepas berjaya dibuka pintu, saya memanjat tebing parit yang berlumpur. oleh kerana licin, maka beberapa kali juga saya tergelincir. akhirnya saya dapat keluar.

orang yang pertama yang perasan saya ialah seorang india [dia ternampak kepala saya terjulur keluar].  dia bantu saya untuk pergi ke klinik kesihatan berdekatan, tapi saya kata tak apa, cuma bawa saya jumpa dengan kawan di politeknik merlimau. terima kasih pada kawan saya shahril dan isterinya linda yang perihatin membantu saya.

walaupun tidak seteruk mana, tapi inilah rupanya keadaan kereta saya tu.

keempat-empat tayar abis bengkok.  sebelah kanan itu habis terperosok ke dalam. adalah dalam sebulan lebih kereta itu dibaiki.  saya juga rasa derita kerana beberapa bulan sebelum itu saya sudah berhabis untuk bodykit. namun, itu semua sudah tiada.

setelah dibaiki dengan kos berbelas ribu, maka inilah hasilnya:

cantik sudah kereta.  selepas kemalangan itu, saya tetap lagi drive kereta ni selama 3 tahun. dalam masa yang sama, saya telah belanja beribu ringgit untuk naik taraf sistem brek, tayar, enjin, suspensi dan lain-lain.

dalam masa itu juga, saya cuba atasi fobia memandu. agak lama. mengambil masa 6 bulan untuk benar2 pulih dan yakin semasa memandu. dalam masa yang sama saya banyak belajar tentang teknik2 kemahiran memandu laju dan teknik drift.

namun, selepas 3 tahun guna kereta ini mula sentiasa meragam sehingga saya penat berhabis duit membaikinya. lalu saya hadiahkan kereta itu pada ayah saya.  manakala, saya pula membeli kereta baru.

now, kereta itu sudah berusia 11 tahun dengan perjalanan mencecah 400 ribu kilometer. sekarang ianya masih dalam keadaan elok lagi kerana dijaga oleh ayah saya [yang ada kemahiran kejuruteraan mekanikal kelas satu semasa dalam askar]. cuma sekarang, cat pada kereta ini nampaknya sudah luntur, pudar dan ada beberapa bahagian yang mengelupas. perlu disembur cat semula.  saya juga ada impian, kalau ada bajet - kumpul sikit2 hendak naik taraf kereta ini lagi.

kereta itu lah cinta hati pertama saya.  walaupun pernah hidup menderita dengan dia, namun ironinya ianya adalah kenangan terindah... perghh ayat sedih jer..

sebab itu lah dalam tulisan blog saya ini, saya selalu ingatkan semua orang jangan memandu laju dengan semberono tanpa ada belajar apa-apa kemahiran dan kereta tersebut ibarat tong kosong tanpa ada apa-apa sistem keselamatan.

saya sudah mengalaminya. cukup lah. ramai orang yang cukup hairan saya boleh terselamat kerana kalau diikutkan daripada siasatan polis dan kesan brek, nyatanya kereta saya bergerak dalam keadaan yang terlampau laju.  tuhan masih sayangkan saya. alhamdulillah. pada masa itu, dirasakan masih lagi boleh bernafas adalah nikmat yang paling tinggi allah pernah kurniakan.

sabar bro.. sabar

sepanjang pengalaman sudah 17 tahun memegang lesen motor dan kereta, saya rasa entah berapa kali kena maki hamun dengan pengguna jalanraya lain (yang saya ingatlah)

segmen: maki hamun

insiden pertama: tahun 1996 masa tu baru beli motor, maklumlah motor baru, model rg sport, terkial2 lagi. bawa pulak di tengah2 kuala lumpur yang memang terkenal sesak. apa lagi, kena maki dengan moto belakang.

insiden kedua:  tahun yang sama dalam kesesakan jalan tu terkena pulak side mirror kiri kereta orang (tapi tak lah patah). konon, nak jadi baik ler tolong betul2 kan, pastu orang tu turunkan cermin dia maki pulak, terus saja saya jalan meluru ke depan sebab terkejut.

insiden ketiga: tahun 1998 pandu kereta dekat area kl juga. ada mamat moto maki dengan tunjuk 'fuck'. saya pun terpinga2 kenapa. lantak lah.

insiden keempat:  tahun 2002, lori askar tunjuk fuck sebab saya potong kenderaan lain (lagi pun dia still jauh sangat). apa ke hal?

insiden kelima: tahun 2003, entah kenapa tiba2 ada sorang pemandu kereta tunjuk fuck lagi sebab saya potong lori. jarak adalah selamat sebab dia still jauh. saya rasa dia tengah leka memandu, sedar2 dia perasan saya tengah potong kenderaan. agaknya dia terkejut.

insiden keenam:  tahun 2004, mentang2 ler masa tu saya drive kancil, 850 ex (nak juga beritau cc), dalam keadaan jalan yang sesak, saya sudah beri signal kanan untuk masuk lorong kanan, sudah lama betul, akhirnya dapat juga masuk. tapi orang belakang macam bengang tak beri laluan (sedangkan luas lagi jarak). dihon nye saya dan kemudian dia jadi samseng masuk lane tengah. saya tengok proton saga lama dengan tinted gelap tak ingat, dia turunkan tingkap mamat tu tunjuk penumbuk dan maki hamun sambil tuding jari. saya pula senyum dan beri tabik. pastu dia speed tinggalkan saya sambil cilok depan dengan jarak kelegaan yang hampir langsung tiada. perhhh.

insiden ketujuh:  tahun 2004 masih lagi memandu kancil, mamat moto samseng pula tuduh saya himpit dia jalan. siap tunggu saya kat depan tu!! tapi saya buat donno teruskan perjalanan dengan mamat tu bengang sambil kata dengan kuat perkataan fuck dan lancau.

insiden kelapan: tahun 2013. masih dalam kesesakan lalulintas. saya nak masuk kanan tapi kereta hadapan terlampau banyak. kereta-kereta belakang saya pun banyak. kereta yang dibelakang saya ialah peugeot 508 standard siap hon saya dua, tiga kali suruh saya masuk simpang. gila ke apa dia? saya buat donno saja.

insiden kesembilan: tahun 2013, still dalam kesesakan jalan, tapi jalan yang sempit. saya ikut jalan saya. masa selisih dengan kereta sebelah, terlihat juga orang tu tunjuk fuck pada saya. maka jadi hairan lah saya.

segmen ala-ala samseng:

ini lah dia pengalaman saya yang tak terkira banyaknya yang terjadi di jalanraya iaitu ramai orang suka tunjuk lagak semasa memandu kereta yang tiada langsung atau kena mengena dengan saya (sebab saya bukannya ada hutang duit dengan sesiapa pun).

1)  memotong saya dengan kelajuan yang laju dalam jarak yang sangat rapat.
2)  memotong kereta lain dan tiba-tiba mencilok di hadapan, kemudia dia membrek serta bergerak perlahan.
3)  mengekori di belakang dengan jarak ibarat bumper to bumper.
4)  mengekori di belakang dengan memberi hi-beam beberapa kali dengan tiada sebab di jalan yang kosong.
5)  menahan kereta saya, bila tidak dipeduli, mereka start enjin dan mula mengejar.
6)  memotong saya dengan perlahan, sambil main2 bunyi ekzos.
7)  ada kenderaan yang tengah memotong ni, sambil tu pula dia berjalan beriringan dengan saya sambil turun tingkap dan tengok2 siapa saya.

itu saja yang saya ingat. mungkin ada banyak lagi.

ok, bagi segmen maki hamun dan ala2 samseng itu yang terlibat di dalam pengalaman saya itu adalah rata2nya terdiri daripada etnik melayu.

saya cukup hairan dengan tingkah laku mereka ini. bila di luar sangat sopan dan santun, namun apabila menunggang moto (ala2 rempit?) dan memandu kereta (berlagak?).  gelagat kedua2nya seperti samseng pula.

saya berpendapat haruslah ada ceramah agama ataupun mana2 pendakwah kupas tajuk ini:  sopan di luar, samseng di dalam. tajuk bagi catchy sikit. lepas tu, digesa supaya pihak media selalu bagi sikit pedoman pada setiap lapisan rakyat supaya mereka berhemah di jalanraya.

setakat yang saya bengang sehingga saat ini adalah pemandu peugeot 508 standard itu.  ianya sering nampak dan pemiliknya melayu.  sudahlah, jangan lah nak berlagak dengan hon orang tak tentu pasal. i know the car worths at least rm154,000. ingat anda seorang yang mampu pakai? saya sudah pandu uji 508 sebanyak dua kali tapi model premium (worth 170k). saya tahu kereta tersebut punya enjin yang sangat berprestasi kerana ianya adalah enjin turbo.

tapi saya juga punya pengalaman sendiri terdapat model ferrari, porsche, lexus, skyline gtr dan jaguar pernah berada di belakang saya di kesesakan lalulintas. tapi mereka sangat sopan. tidak pula dihon nya saya yang pakai kereta yang dimiliki oleh orang kebanyakan. apabila mereka memotong, saya lihat mereka bukan melayu.

pengalaman saya sendiri ada sebuah nissan teana, pemandunya adalah seorang cina siap angkat tangan pada saya suruh saya jalan dulu kerana dia ingin jalan perlahan-lahan di hiway.

berlainan pula dengan melayu di brunei yang memandu kereta2 mewah...sangat2 mewah. mereka ini penyantun orangnya dan tidak berlagak di jalanraya.

tapi kenapa orang2 melayu malaysia ni sangat berbeza?

pdrm dan miros kata orang malaysia ada masalah sikap negatif semasa memandu dan menunggang. 

jalanraya itu 'panas', jadi kita janganlah pula panas hati dengan orang lain. kita sama-sama guna jalanraya itu. kita kena berlembut hati. kena bertolak ansur. kena sopan santun.  kena berbaik-baik dengan pengguna lain.  kena cermat dan hati-hati. kita semua masing-masing ingin sampai destinasi dengan selamat.

walaupun jalanraya itu diselenggara baik dan permukaannya yang rata sangat sesuai untuk berlumba, maka ingat lah, apabila anda kemalangan anda akan berasa sakit kerana 1) cedera ringan; 2) cedera parah dan hasil yang berikutnya adalah keberangkalian 3) mati.

kemalangan itu pula terjadi atas tiga perkara iaitu 1) faktor diri sendiri; 2) faktor kenderaan dan 3) faktor ancaman luar (iaitu kelalaian orang lain).  dalam rekod polis, item 1 dan 2 yang banyak menyumbang.
satu lagi, kereta anda itu sangatlah cantik dan berkilat. hargailah kereta anda. please jangan libatkannya dalam kemalangan [reverse psychology].

kemungkinan besar tulisan ini menyebabkan ramai melayu marah kerana saya menulis dengan tiada bukti (dengan menuduh melayu). mungkin mereka juga menuduh cina dan india juga samseng di jalanraya. tapi, kenapa mesti marah?

saya pasti tiada kajian empirikal tentang corak perilaku memandu antara cina, melayu dan india di malaysia. tentunya ada perbezaan. sila lah buat kajian.
